On the occasion of Tourism Day we would like to pay tribute to all those who choose Lanzarote (declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1993) as a destination to enjoy their holidays and our hotels to disconnect by the sea in a privileged environment.
The Tourism Sector is constantly changing and evolving and our great challenge is to continue improving in order to offer a unique experience that connects with the destination and remains in the history of each guest.
This is possible thanks to our team, who, with their magnificent work, manage to exceed the expectations of our most demanding guests and that is why they visit us every season and form part of our Hibiscus family.
Today we are going to know the stories of some of our most frequent guests, to whom we are especially grateful for their trust over the years.
Stuart & Rachael Snell have been travelling for 10 years from England to Lanzarote, the island they fell in love with, and where they discovered our Hotel Lava Beach *****, their favourite place to relax.
When did you first come to Lanzarote and what were you most attracted to from it?
We came here for the first time about 10 years ago. We were very attracted by the aesthetics of the island, its low buildings, the tranquillity and the peace it transmits.
Why choose Lanzarote as destination?
For all of the above and also for the friendliness of its people and the good temperatures. Above all, it is the feeling of relaxation that it transmits.
What is your favourite place in Lanzarote?
Matagorda without a doubt.
How may times have you stayed at Hotel Lava Beach?
8 times!
What are your reasons to come back?
Here we were able to relax as we needed to, and we can´t fault it.
A special moment you look back on with longing?
Each and every one of the moments lived throughout all of our stays.
How do you think tourism has evolved in the last few years?
We have not really seen any change in tourism, but we have received information in the media about the rejection of current tourism in the Canary Islands with which we do not agree and with which we do not identify.
¿What would you tell someone who doesn’t know Lanzarote to encourage them to visit it and stay at Lava Beach?
We have already recommended the hotel to friends of ours that have stayed and they had a great holiday. We even recommended them to ask for a specific room number and it was possible for them to get it.
Do you already have a date for your next visit?
It is yet to be determined, but probably very soon (hopefully in January).
See you soon!
From Ireland Christine and Liam Joyce visit Las Costas Hotel every year, where they find the holiday they deserve in a paradisiacal location.
When did you first come to Lanzarote and what attracted you to this island?
We first came in 2004, thanks to some friends and family recomendations

How many times have you stayed at Hotel Las Costas?
12 times!
Why do you come back to us again?

A special moment that you remember with longing?
New Years Eve, we love spending that time of the year here.
How do you think tourism has evolved in recent years?
The island is definetely much busier than it was 20 years ago, you can already fill it at the airport. But it is still as nice as it was in 2004.
What would you tell someone who doesn’t know Lanzarote to visit it and stay at Las Costas Hotel?
We have already told many people why they have to come to this island, and specially to this hotel: it is the best place to relax and chill. Many friends have stayed here after our recommendations, and they loved it!
Do you already have a date for your next visit?
Of course, we will be back in January 2025. Can’t wait!!
We are waiting for you!
Andreas Manfred chose the Canary Islands as his destination because of the good weather, what he didn’t know was that an island would catch him and our hotel would become his home by the sea.
When did you first come to Lanzarote and what attracted you to the island?
I visited the island for the first time in 1995. What made me come to the Canary Islands was the climate.
Why Lanzarote as a destination?
Because of the good weather all year round. Lanzarote is a special island and if you like it, you will come back.
Where is your favourite place in Lanzarote?
My favourite place is definitely Puerto del Carmen near the sea.
How many times have you stayed at Hotel Lanzarote Village?
With this stay I count 16 times.
Why do you come back to us again?
I like the comfort of the hotel, the gastronomic offer, the staff and the service.
A special moment that you remember with longing?
I was ‘Mister Lanzarote’ in the evening entertainment games, which took place at that time.
How do you think tourism has evolved in recent years?
I think that there will always be more visitors coming to the island and that there will be more tourism because of the climate change and the conditions of the island.
What would you tell someone who doesn’t know Lanzarote to visit and stay at the Lanzarote Village?
I always tell people that this hotel is like my second home. I feel very happy here because of the treatment and the friendliness.
Do you already have a date for the next visit?
I don’t have the exact date yet, but I will probably come back next year.
Thank you very much for your confidence and your time for this interview.
Thank you very much, it is a pleasure like every year to visit again my favourite hotel in Lanzarote.
We hope it will be soon.
After 25 years of repeat stays at the Hotel Floresta, Monica is sure that Lanzarote is her favourite island and our hotel is her second home.
When did you first come to Lanzarote and what attracted you to this island?
The first time my husband and I came to Lanzarote was in 1990.
I was attracted by the bizarreness of the island. I am also an enormous fan of Cesar Manrique, I like his art and everything he created on the island. Lanzarote is like a virus, once you have caught it, you can’t get rid of it. Either you love the island and keep coming back, or the exact opposite. I love Lanzarote.
Why Lanzarote as a travel destination?
We actually wanted to go to Gran Canaria the first time, but it was too expensive for us at the time and we didn’t like the many high-rise hotels there. So we came to Lanzarote. We then changed for a few years and flew to Tenerife, mainly for diving.
We have been coming back to Lanzarote and Floresta since 2010.
What is your favorite place in Lanzarote?
It is actually impossible to name a single favorite place. The island has so many beautiful places. To name a few: Tenesar, Mirador de Haria, the cave near Orzola, which you can only admire at low tide…
How often have you stayed at the Floresta Hotel?
We have spent at least 25 holidays at Floresta.
What are the reasons why you come back to us?
It is always like coming home. I like the spacious apartment. It is nicely furnished and you don’t feel cramped. You also have the option of preparing a little something in the kitchen.
What is a special moment that you remember with longing?
Whenever I land in Lanzarote and arrive here…that is always a special moment for me.
How do you think tourism has developed in recent years?
Lanzarote has become very crowded. I also have the feeling that there used to be a greater balance in the variety of nationalities. Whenever I go into a shop, I always try to greet the employees in Spanish and maybe even say a few words in Spanish. The locals often answer me in English these days.
What would you say to someone who doesn’t know Lanzarote about why they should visit the island and stay at the Floresta Hotel?
Lanzarote is “the other island”, the bizarre is very attractive. You should also get to know the works of Cesar Manrique. He did a lot for the island and there are many admirable things to discover from him. I recommend that visitors to the island explore it by car rather than on bus tours in order to get to know the diversity of Lanzarote in peace. I can also highly recommend a wine tasting in La Geria to get to know and love the various wines of Lanzarote.
And why Floresta? Very simple in a few words: the warmth and friendliness of the staff, cleanliness, the wonderful gardens, spacious apartments, everyone is willing to listen, problems are solved immediately and many employees who have worked at Floresta for many years. All of this speaks for itself.
Do you have a date for your next visit?
Yes, of course. In November this year
See you soon!
